Welcome to the UK's number one motorcycle and scooter brand.

The reason we're number one is thanks to the great range of motorcycles we stock, plus the unbeatable prices we sell them for. Because we supply direct to our customers with no middleman, we can pass on the savings to you, meaning you can order a new 125cc motorcycle today for only £1099. So whether you're still thinking about buying your first motorcycle or already an experienced rider and looking for a new set of wheels, we're confident you'll find a great bike to choose from in our exciting new range.

Some great reasons for owning a motorcycle

There are a number of benefits to owning and riding a motorcycle, some of the main ones include:

  • A 125cc motorcycle is considerably cheaper to run, service, tax and insure than a car
  • Parking your motorcycle is easier than a car and you won't have to spend ages searching for a space.
  • You can fit three or four motorcycles into the same space you'd need for a car, and even more in an average size garage
  • Commuting is much easier on a motorcycle, especially in heavy traffic and you have the option of using narrow side streets that tend to be quieter
  • Motorcycles cost less to buy – as little as £949 for a 125cc from Direct Bikes
  • Riding a motorcycle is a lot of fun. It gets you out in the fresh air and you're not sealed off from the world around you as you are behind the wheel of a car

Why buy a 125cc motorcycle?

Our range of motorcycles are equipped with four stroke 125cc engines and are engineered to deliver the perfect mix of power and efficiency. You can expect to get excellent fuel economy riding a typical mixed urban cycle while also having the acceleration you need to negotiate your way through traffic. That extra power can be a real safety feature, especially for getting out of the way of oncoming vehicles, and with a top speed of 70mph you'll be more than capable of keeping up with traffic on busy A roads. Light and comfortable to ride, all of our 125cc models come with lockable under seat storage with plenty of space to keep your phone and other items safe. A great motorcycle for the daily commute, the five speed gearbox and optimum cruising speed also makes this bike ideal for longer rides on open roads.

Staying legal

You can ride a 125cc if you're aged 17+ and have completed your compulsory basic training (CBT). You'll have a further two years to pass your full motorcycle test or take your CBT again. As well as a CBT or full motorcycle licence, you'll need to have adequate insurance in place before you can ride on UK roads. The minimum legal requirement is third party insurance and although this is usually the cheapest option, you may decide to pay for the added cover you get from third party fire and theft or fully comprehensive insurance. Road tax is another annual cost and after three years, your motorcycle will need a valid MOT certificate.

Staying safe

Protecting your head while riding is vital so don't scrimp on the cost of a good quality helmet. Wearing a helmet that meets industry standards is also a legal requirement in the UK. Other protective gear to consider include gloves, windproof/waterproof jacket and trousers, and boots. Some items may be expensive but they're unlikely to need replacing very often and in the meantime, they could save you from serious injury in an accident. Keeping your bike safe is another consideration, especially when parked up, so make sure you have a good bike lock or chain.

Enjoy the ride - and always ride safely

It goes without saying that you should always ride safely and respect other road users. Be sure you can be seen by wearing a high-vis jacket, especially in dense traffic, and that you can see what's going on around you by using your mirrors. Organisations such as the Royal Society for Prevention of Accidents ( RoSPA) run advanced riding course for motorcyclists that not only help you to become a better rider, but can also help reduce your insurance premiums.
