Bike shipping is more cost effective than most people imagine. Many tour operators abroad are happy to put together self drive packages for people arriving with their own bikes. Many people are enjoying finding their own way around.
Our experiences show that the top destinations are:
- Australia,
- USA West Coast,
- Spain/Morocco,
- New Zealand,
- Canada
Costs vary and the larger the group the cheaper it gets per bike. A rough price guide to sending a bike each way is:
| Destination |
By Air |
Transit Time (days) |
By Sea |
Transit Time (days) |
| Sydney |
£1475.00 |
7 |
£650.00 |
46 |
| Los Angeles |
£910.00 |
6 |
£540.00 |
31 |
| Malaga, Spain |
£250.00 per bike for groups of 6.
£400.00 for a single bike. 7 days. |
|
(Malaga is popular both as a venue in Spain and a gateway to Morocco)
|
| Auckland |
£1550.00 |

£650.00 |
46 |
| Vancouver |
£950.00 |

£610.00 |

(Malaga - in fact pretty much all of Europe - is road-freight.)
(That's rough prices. And each way.)
Transit times are estimates from the time the bike is delivered to us until it is available at destination.
What the Freight Forwarder does
-
Collection. Most customers prefer to ride their bikes to one of our depots but we can collect if required.
-
Crating. Packing is included in the above prices for standard Bikes. We prep for freighting according to the destination and the mode of travel, clean it if necessary and pack it ready to go. All wood packing that we use is treated and certified for acceptance in almost every country around the world.
-
Customs Formalities both at origin and destination.
-
Shipping/Airfreight/Roadfreight as required.
-
Support. We help our customers with as much paperwork and advice as possible. We also invite our customers to supply us with copies of their essential paperwork. We supply them with a key fob which has our 24 hour emergency number so that in the unlikely event of an accident, the authorities will call us and we can supply them with the riders details.
