The Goverment's been shuffling all their Motorcycle Licensing stuff around. Used to be DVLA for the V5, Customs for importing a bike, DSA for your bike test. You knew where you were. Now its either: DirectGov, the individual agencies stuff still on their own sites, or the newest 'joined-up-initiative' - TrafficOffice. Let us know if we have stuff in the wrong place here.
BTW Check your photocard driving licence. They are only valid for 10 years, you need to renew. If you forget, or don't notice - you are not licenced to drive anything, car or motorcycle or bicycle (well, OK, you can ride a bicycle). You are normally automatically entitled to drive a car or motorcycle until 70 years old, but you must now renew the licence every 10 years. Check the 4b field on the front of the licence, this is the 'Licence Valid To' date.
And while you are at it, just check your motorcycle entitlement is there. We are still hearing of some riders whose motorcycle entitlement got 'lost' when photocard licences were issued. You need some form of 'A' entitlement and a wee picture of a bike on the back of the licence.
If you are looking to make your view heard on some local or national political motorcycling issue - look up your local Councillor, MP, MEP, MSP, here. Type in your postcode, it tells you who they are, and how to get in touch with them.
Oh, and have you found the Transport petitions to sign in the list of Petitions to the PM?
