Apprehensive about heading South

7th September 2002

Hello Everyone

Well I am now into my last 7 weeks in the USA. I am very grateful to the American people and businesses that have graciously hosted me and supported the fundraising objectives of my ride over the past year. But I have mixed feelings about heading south of the border.

On one hand the excitement and tinge of apprehension is brewing as I look forward to heading out of the safety and security of the USA.

On the other hand I am concerned about the well-bring of the Flores Project. We have not raised enough to cover the full 3 year pilot project term. If I am kidnapped and killed it will die too. This would be a shame because our efforts would be in vain. There is such potential for the idea to spread throughout the region if only we can show concrete results over three years. All signs show that this will be the case. I cannot expect to raise much money in South America and Africa.

Please help. Remember that:
