Why should you ?
Fame..., your name in lights...., adulation of the masses..., that sort of thing.
Why 1 - its good to share
Because you believe in sharing useful knowledge. This site's Editor knows lots of stuff about airhead BMWs, and he'll happily explain how to get the front brake working as good as it should. And if you can tell him why his GL1100 will not tick over right, he'll be chuffed to bits. That's what the web is for, and it is a source of immense pleasure when you need to know something, and somewhere on the web, someone has written exactly how.
Why 2 - traffic to your own site
Maybe you recondition Spagthorpe Wobbly Pins. Maybe you deal in Grey Imports. One of the most effective ways to get traffic to your own site and attract customers is to provide content for other sites. Your article would appear on www.motorcycle.co.uk with your name, a link to your site, and whatever (non-invasive, subtle) byline you want. So, can you write 500 words on when a Wobbly Pin is beyond repair? Or explain the paperwork involved in registering a Grey Import?
